Description
A peek into one of the farms in Äskhult hamlet that dates back to the 17th century. Äskhult is the only hamlet in Sweden where the farms are still in their original locations. This is because they were not split up during the 19th century agrarian reforms. There is much that indicates that people have lived here for several thousand years. Settlements have been discovered, primarily in the fields, with cooking pits, or hearths, that can be dated back to the Bronze Age, approximately 2,700 years ago.
