Artist's Description
California sea lions (Zalophus californianus) on the docks in Yaquina Bay, Newport, Oregon. They frequently make use of this haul out while they are visiting in Yaquina Bay. During the summer months they migrate to the Channel Islands of southern California to breed. Throughout the rest of the year adult and sub-adult males can often be found in the waters around Newport and throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Love this...I tried to guess where this was taken before I opened it...thought maybe Santa Cruz California. All the lovely pacific coast regions are visited by these wonderful creatures! l/f

Thanks, Jenny .... we have them up here all year except for a few weeks in July when they go south to find a mate, those that don't come back up here so we fondly call them 'male losers' since they are all male :-)
